Our Story

Dennis and Eric are social entrepreneurs who have a knack for turning visionary ideas into real, impactful experiences through action and implementation. After meeting in the City of Angels in 2013, Eric and Dennis decided to join creative forces and seek new and challenging opportunities. The jump into festivals, events and cultural awakening experiences stems from their shared passion for celebrating the arts, cultivating relationships, building communities and bringing people together in Los Angeles and around the world.

Their first foray into festivals was with Night on Broadway - an annual celebration of the Bringing Back Broadway economic development initiative, a free arts & music festival planned in conjunction with the City of Los Angeles. They understood the importance of playing a role in the revitalization of the historic district and seized the opportunity. The impact of the festival can be seen in the glittering eyes and smiles of 75,000 people's faces and witnessing Angelenos fall in love with their city all over again.

Not long after their first experience with NOB, Eric joined a group of passionate DTLA residents and business owners to bring downtown LA’s very first LGBT festival to life. They had a huge challenge ahead of them but in 4 months they accomplished more than they could have ever imagined. The festival was attended 10,000 and awakened the dormant community and established downtown as a new LGBT mecca. DTLA Proud’s main mission is to celebrate and redefine diversity and this strongly  resonates with Eric and Dennis.

They are grateful to have worked within the corporate and nonprofit world as it provided them the foundation for their venture into social entrepreneurship. Eric is a core team member of the Sixth Street Viaduct Project. He has an undying passion for iconic infrastructure projects that that connect communities and make the world a better place to live. Dennis has always had a passion for helping others on a global scale. One of his dreams was to work at the XPRIZE Foundation and he was able to do so with the Alliances Team. He worked on amazing projects within a brilliant eco-system supporting competitions that would effect a billion people and help build a bridge to abundance for all.

Our Story

Eric Solis and Dennis Caasi are social entrepreneurs who have a knack for turning visionary ideas into real, impactful experiences through action and implementation. After meeting in the City of Angels in 2013, Eric and Dennis decided to join creative forces and seek new and challenging opportunities. Their recent jump into starting their own design & creative consulting studio stems from a shared passion for the arts, design, music, cultivating relationships, building communities and bringing people together in Los Angeles, Mexico City and around the world.

Imaginary Space’s founder, Eric Solis, is a product of So Cal through-and-through. His father grew up in Watts in South Central LA, and his mother immigrated from Mexicali, BC as a child and grew up in East LA. Eric was born in LA, was raised in OC and the IE, and attended college at USC to study architecture. Eric has always felt a special connection to the history and culture of Southern California and LA specifically. As a fourth-generation Angeleno, the city runs through his veins and his soul. After graduating from USC, entering the design and architecture profession allowed Eric the opportunity to literally shape and build the city through the projects he worked on. The most prominent project he was fortunate to be a part of was the new Sixth Street Viaduct. Eric was part of the design competition team that dreamt up the vision for the new bridge design and was responsible for delivering that vision through the design & engineering process to reality. The original Sixth Street Viaduct is arguably one of the most important monumental landmarks in the City of LA and stands as a cultural icon for many communities in the city – especially the Chicano and lowriding culture.

Eric and Dennis’ first project as independent creatives began with Night on Broadway - a hugely popular annual celebration of the Bringing Back Broadway economic development initiative, a free arts & music festival planned in conjunction with the City of Los Angeles. They understood the importance of playing a role in the revitalization of the historic district that they lived in and seized the opportunity. The impact of the festival had a ripple effect on the creative and economic lifeblood of the city and brought hundreds of thousands of Angelenos to the streets of Downtown LA who fell in love with their city all over again.

Not long after their first experience with NOB, Eric joined a group of passionate DTLA residents and business owners to bring downtown LA’s very first LGBTQ festival to life, DTLA Proud. The group had a huge challenge ahead of them, but with Eric’s design background and production experience they accomplished more than they could have ever imagined. Eric went on to serve as Vice President of the DTLA Proud organization and helped design & plan the festival in Pershing Square for the next four years. The festivals were attended by thousands and established downtown as a new LGBTQ center of life in the city. DTLA Proud’s main mission is to celebrate and redefine diversity and this strongly resonates with their personal philosophy.

Dennis has always had a passion for helping others on a global scale. Among one of his defining experiences was the opportunity to work at the XPRIZE Foundation with the Alliances Team. He worked on amazing projects within a brilliant eco-system supporting science-based competitions that could have an affect on one billion people and help build a bridge to abundance for all.

Eric and Dennis are grateful to have worked within the corporate and nonprofit world as it provided them the foundation for their venture into social entrepreneurship. Eric has a deep passion for design & creative projects that work to connect communities and make the world a better place to live. Today, Eric leads Imaginary Space as Design Director and CEO. Dennis leads Business Management for Imaginary Space and is an aspiring music artist with an EP currently in production.
